The Remedy Club
Roots duo, The Remedy Club comprising Kj McEvoy and Aileen Mythen have been described by Hotpress magazine as ‘Ireland’s best kept musical secret’ and ‘outrageously good in every department’, while Your Life In A Song, UK described the duo as ‘Among today’s top roots artists’. The duo have toured extensively around Ireland, the UK and Germany and have played many sold out gigs and festivals including most recently Tradfest, Temple Bar, Kilkenny Roots Festival and Celtic Connections, Glasgow. Other festival slots include Blues Autour Festival (Paris), Electric Picnic, Longitude, Westport, Millport Music Festival, Other Voices and Americana UK festival, London. The Remedy Club gained a lot of positive attention with their new critically acclaimed album True Hand True Heart, which was recorded in Room and Board studios, Nashville and produced by 5 time Grammy award winning producer Ray Kennedy (Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris) with Slim Chance, Netherlands saying they were 'one of the most exciting European acts around right now' and The Lonesome Highway describing it as 'simply divine'. The Remedy Club have just completed their third, 'Back To You', which sees them broadening their scope in terms of direction. While retaining their Americana and roots sound the music also incorporates soul, pop and old school r & b with stunning brass and string arrangements by Liam Bates (Texas) and Michael Buckley (Van Morrison) and features an array of stalwarts including Aongus Ralston on bass (The Waterboys) and Binzer Brennan (The Frames) on drums.
