Your Roots Are Showing Conference 2023 (15)_edited.jpg

Become an Official YRAS Showcase Artist!

Eligibility

For the Official Showcase Application of Your Roots Are Showing, please note the following guidelines:

  • You do not need to be a member to apply for an official showcase.

  • While there is no fee to APPLY for an Official Showcase, artists chosen for the showcase, along with their accompanying musicians, must be paid registrants of the conference. This registration gives you full access to all programming, panels, workshops, gig fair, showcasing, trade fair, and sessions over the entire 5 days of the conference and music trail. Conference registration prices for official showcase artists will be capped.

  • Artists from outside of Ireland must ensure they can legally enter the country. It is their responsibility to obtain all necessary travel documentation, including visas, if required.

  • Artists cannot participate in the Official Showcase for more than two consecutive years without taking a year off. This rule promotes diversity and ensures that a broad spectrum of both established and emerging artists have the opportunity to participate in the Official Showcases.

Radius Clause

To ensure that our Official Showcases remain the highlight of Your Roots Are Showing - Ireland's Folk Conference and to enrich the experience for everyone involved, we kindly require our selected artists to embrace the spirit of community and connection by not scheduling any concerts within a 20-mile (32-kilometer) radius of the conference venue from January 15-19, 2025. This is designed to focus attention on the incredible gatherings we have planned.

This does not limit your participation in radio performances, media interviews, or in-store signings during these times.

Furthermore, while we celebrate and encourage your engagements outside the conference, we ask that any off-site events within the specified dates, times, and distance not be promoted using the YRAS delegate list or through any branding, advertising, or announcements at the conference itself. Additionally, any use of the Your Roots Are Showing name or logo for events outside our gathering must receive prior written approval from YRAS.

We believe these measures will help maximise the benefits of the conference for both artists and industry attendees, fostering a vibrant, supportive environment where everyone's artistry can truly shine. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
