The 19th Street Band

Northern Ireland / USA

Loved for their strong vocal harmonies and driving rhythms, four piece The 19th Street Band delivers high-energy Americana, hillbilly, gypsy-rockin’ good time music that drives audiences mad. The band comprises Caolaidhe, pronounced “Cally”, Davis (guitar/harmonica/vocalist) alongside fiddle/mandolin/vocalist/partner-in-crime Meghan Davis, with Christopher Brown (bass/vocals) & Patty Dougherty (drums). Their songs touch the heartstrings, lift the spirits and remind us that life is just a beautiful mess.

Their newest album, Near Perfect, has received air play on radio stations throughout the UK, including BBC Radio and is receiving rave reviews from all the leading music magazines throughout the UK and Ireland. The album includes a recording of “Livin’ in These Troubled Times”, a song written by Philip Donnelly about the Troubles in Belfast and made a #1 hit by country artist, Crystal Gayle.

The 19th Street Band has entertained crowds at US festivals such as DelFest, Charm City Bluegrass Festival, National Cherry Blossom Festival, The Washington Folk Festival, Iowa Irish Festival, and Maryland Irish Festival. With roots just outside of Belfast in Holywood, the band has been featured as a regular artist at the Open House Festival in Bangor, Northern Ireland and the Dunmore East Bluegrass Festival in Co. Waterford. They tour Ireland/UK every year and bring 40+ American fans along for the ride. This year they will be rocking their ‘Baps to Baguettes’ Tour from Belfast to France.
