Allison Shaw
CEO, Manic Monkee
Allison Shaw (Allie) is a multi-faceted and experienced music industry professional. Allie’s
passion for music prompted her to create Manic Monkee, a boutique firm specializing in
full-scale festival production and operations, talent buying, strategic partnerships, artist
management, and brand activations across music, tech, and entertainment. With over 20 years
of experience, she currently serves as SVP of Festival Operations and Talent Strategy for Pure
Imagination Festival and is the producer/talent buyer for Good Karma Fest and the co-creator
and talent buyer for the Whole Foods SXSW Showcase. Her past work spans multiple
multi-genre festivals including talent buyer for Moogfest and serving as executive producer and
talent buyer for Los Angeles’s first all solar-powered music festival, Sunstock Solar Fest and
Executive Director for the Santa Fe Muzik Festival, and managed multiple artists. She also
serves on the Board of Directors for the nonprofit Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and is also a
professional member of The Recording Academy.
Allie began her career writing for MTV before founding national music publication Hyperactive
Music Magazine and the Hyperactive Conference and Music Festival. Her wide-ranging roles
have included Director of Music for culinary celebrity Rachael Ray/Watch Entertainment, CMO
of .music, A&R and Operations Manager at Listen Records/Sony.and Head of Partnerships at
Muzooka. Allison also got the absolute privilege of working with Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
inductees Public Enemy as head of brand development. Shaw also served on the New Mexico
Music Commission.
