Bradshaw Lambert
Bong Load Custom Records & GBL Management
Veteran music executive Bradshaw Lambert is an independent label co-founder, artist manager, radio broadcaster and concert impresario. Starting his creative career at the San Diego radio powerhouse 91X FM Alternative Radio, Bradshaw quickly headed for Los Angeles to work as an audio engineer at world class recording facility A&M Studios (We Are The World) for seminal music producer Jimmy Iovine (Interscope Records, Death Row Records, Beats by Dre).
At famed recording studio The Record Plant, he next connected with producer-partners Tom Rothrock and Rob Schnapf and soon Bong Load Custom Records was launched.
Originally based in L.A. (and relaunching in 2025) Bong Load released a slew of post-punk, modern folk, blues, metal and alternative bands in the early 90s. Including: L7 Official, Elliott Smith, Richard Thompson - RT, R.L. Burnside, THE EELS, Fu Manchu, Wool, The Obsessed and Kyuss King (later: Queens of the Stone Age) and others. The indie label’s fifth release was a 12” vinyl single called “Loser” from a 22-year old folk/punk artist named Beck.
The Bong Load video for Beck’s “Loser” single hit like wildfire across MTV and the single landed at a fresh network of stations switching over to the new alternative rock format. It helped the track reach the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the #1 spot on the Alternative Songs chart. With eight Recording Academy / GRAMMYs, world tours and multi-platinum sales, Beck remains as an essential and iconic artist for our time.
Bradshaw went on to manage classic rock and folk singer-songwriter Jack Tempchin, composer of at least five diamond-platinum hits by the Eagles and of gold and platinum evergreen cuts by: Glenn Frey, George Jones, Tom Waits, Buck Owens, Richie Havens, Trisha Yearwood, Johnny Rivers, Randy Meisner, Emmylou Harris, Glen Campbell (Official), Tanya Tucker, and Chris Hillman among others. He landed Tempchin two record deals: the first with Blue Élan Records and the second with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers’s Mailboat Records. Ultimately it all culminated in Jack Tempchin’s Official Induction into NYC-based ‘Songwriters Hall of Fame’ Class of 2019, along with lauded songwriting legends Tom T Hall (The Storyteller), John Prine, Dallas Austins, Missy Elliott and Yusuf / Cat Stevens).
Presently, Bradshaw manages artists across multiple genres, including Under the Rug (Austin TX), Nathan Graham Music (Chicago IL), Phil Hamilton (Ruidoso NM) David Luning (Los Angeles CA), Darin Talbot (Lake Tahoe, NV) and Andy Clockwise (Sydney, AUS).
This summer in the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico, he launched his inaugural concert series and radio show, both titled, Under A Mountain Sky. He’ll be focused on all of the above and on relaunching Bong Load Custom Records in 2025.
