Muireann Bradley

I am an acoustic finger picking guitar player and singer. I perform Country Blues and Ragtime Blues from the 1920s & 30s, also Folk, Roots and Americana. I am 16 years old. I grew up in County Donegal hearing my father listening to records of this old music and playing and singing it himself. When I was nine years old I asked him to teach me to play and after some pestering he gave in and bought me my first guitar, I worked hard and learned to finger pick in various old blues styles. However as I got older I began to invest more time in the combat sports I trained regularly in and I began to fall away somewhat from the guitar. Then in March 2020 when the first COVID lock downs happened and all contact sports were shut down I was lost for a while but I soon rediscovered my love for the guitar and the Piedmont Blues I loved so much. I was now practicing singing and playing . I decided to start posting videos on You Tube, the first of which was my rendition of Blind Blake's "Police Dog Blues". It received a lot of attention , it's now had 80,000 views . I was then contacted by Josh Rosenthal of Tompkins Square Records and he suggested I record and album which is now due for release in April 2024 entitled "I kept these old blues".
