The Hello Darlins

Canada

Making a name as the biggest breakthrough artists on the international Americana scene with their debut album Go By Feel, Canadian country/roots collective The Hello Darlins is gearing up to return with an even more ambitious collection of material for its official sophomore release.

The group, led by Romani-Canadian musician, Candace Lacina and world-renowned Hammond B3 player, Mike Little, The Hello Darlins are some of Canada’s most in-demand session musicians who came together to forge a distinct hybrid of country, gospel and blues.

After three European Tours, including Americanafest-UK, and a slot with Lucinda Williams at Paradiso, Amsterdam, as well as a 36 date cross-Canadian tour with blues-roots icon Matt Andersen and old-out stops at Massey Hall and National Arts Centre along the way- The Hello Darlins are just getting started.

The Hello Darlins began in 2016 when Lacina and Little worked together on a studio session for George Canyon and began collaborating as songwriters and producers. They duo wanted to write an Americana/Folk-roots project for fun, that was dedicated to creating classic sounding music using real instrumentation, classic instruments and no vocal tuning.

The band officially began to take shape when producer and friend, Murray Pulver suggested making a record. The goals were to keep it real, (go by feel) and create a sound that would translate live with no tracks or studio tricks. Bed tracks were recorded in Winnipeg and Calgary, and the 3 recorded the rest in a small basement studio. It was Mixed by Grammy Award Winning Engineer (Patti Griffin) Mike Poole.
