Annie Cheevers

Ireland

Annie Cheevers is an Indie Folk artist and songwriter from Boston, Massachusetts, now based in Limerick, Ireland. Her music blends Folk and Indie, weaving dreamy, atmospheric soundscapes with emotionally raw songwriting that reflects on human connection, self-discovery, and the complexities of growing up. Influenced by artists like Sharon Van Etten, Sinéad O’Connor, Kate Bush, Cat Power, and Neko Case, Annie has been described by veteran songwriter Brendan Little as “one of Boston’s best-kept musical secrets.”

Annie's musical journey began in 2019, performing covers with bands in venues across Massachusetts. During the pandemic, she turned inward, dedicating time to developing her songwriting and guitar skills. That period of growth led to the release of her debut EP, Big Kid, in June 2022, produced by longtime friend and collaborator Brendan Little. The title track, Big Kid, an Indie Pop song with synths and drums that nod to Bruce Springsteen's sound, reflects on a past relationship and the bittersweet realities of growing up. She followed the single with My City, an ode to her adolescence and Boston community, which reflects on the rising cost of living in her hometown. Following the 4 song EP's release on June 9th 2022, Annie performed across venues in and around Boston, which included her EP release show at the iconic Brighton Music Hall.

Before relocating to Ireland, Annie was set to pursue a master's degree in Environmental Policy at University College Dublin. Having studied cultural anthropology, political science, and climate justice at the University of South Carolina, it seemed like a natural next step. But as the time to leave for Dublin approached, she realized just how deep her commitment to music truly was. Choosing to follow her passion, she switched paths, enrolling in the MA in Songwriting at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick—a decision she describes as “the best one I’ve ever made.”

Since moving to Limerick in 2022, Annie has called the city home, captivated by its vibrant music scene and strong sense of community. She has performed at renowned Irish venues such as Dolans and festivals including All Together Now in Waterford in 2023. More recently in January of 2025, she collaborated with Corpus Christi School and other local Limerick artists to record a cover of Animal Instinct by The Cranberries in support of The Haven Hub, Ireland’s first dedicated mental health community center.

For Annie, music is more than a hobby—it’s a lifelong passion, a responsibility, and a way of life. Her mission revolves around healing, connection, and collaboration, viewing music as a vehicle for self-discovery and human connection. Over the past few years, she has continued to hone her writing, production, and performance skills, challenging herself through new projects and artistic partnerships.

This summer, Annie will join Amos Lee on tour for select dates in Germany and at London’s iconic Union Chapel. While living and working in Limerick, she continues shaping a new body of work that she plans to record in the near future.
