Ben Gage
USA

Ben Gage is a songwriter and storyteller from Akron, Ohio, raised where steel once screamed and neighborhoods were built on union wages and potluck dinners. He cut his teeth on working-class values: tenacity, humility, and the kind of quiet strength that doesn’t ask for attention, just respect. That same spirit lives in his songs. You won’t find big metaphors or over-polished lines here, just raw, plainspoken truths that hit like a familiar memory.
But more than anything, Ben Gage writes because songwriting gives people a voice when words fail. His songs aren’t written to be clever, they’re written to mean something. Because for Ben, the heart of songwriting isn’t about showing off, it’s about showing up. About handing someone a lyric that helps them say what they never could. About crafting melodies that make space for grief, for joy, for release. About connection.
In 2021, Ben walked away from a decade of life in corporate America to chase that connection full-time. Now he travels the country, guitar and harmonicas in tow, collecting stories and trading them for songs. Every mile adds to the archive, bars, living rooms, national parks, and small town porches alike.
His sound leans on folk and blues traditions, but never feels stuck in the past. Instead, his songs feel lived-in, like something passed down, worn soft, and somehow still made just for you. And when you listen, you’re not just hearing Ben’s story. You’re hearing your own, too.
