Federica Fruscella
Italy / Ireland

Federica Fruscella is an Italian independent artist, singer and composer based in Dublin. Her creative
world revolves around music, theatre, translation and a deep interest in psyche and folktales, finding
its roots in a family tradition of storytelling. Through the years, she has focused her musical research
on unreleased melodies both from the Celtic world and the Mediterranean area. During her
explorations, storytelling and memory become an integral part of her artistic identity: her debut album
"Clonmacnoise" is a tribute to Celtic culture and it's a magical box that mixes up elements of folklore,
poetry and spirituality. She has recently released a series of singles under the name of “Ballate dei
Nonni” - the italian for “Granpas’ Ballads” - together with the Italian guitarist Iacopo Schiavo; a
project dedicated to unknown traditional melodies that, through the years, they have been collecting
from their own Granparents and relatives.
