James Keegan
Ireland

At just 21, Cork-born indie-folk rock artist James Keegan is fast becoming one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging voices. Known for his heartfelt songwriting and powerful live presence, James has already performed in over 14 countries in 2025 alone - touring across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and the U.S. His ability to create genuine connection through music has earned him a growing international fanbase, with standout performances at venues like the House of Blues in New Orleans, Ruth Eckerd Hall in Florida, and the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio, Texas.
Currently on an ambitious 97 date U.S. tour supporting ex-Queensrÿche frontman Geoff Tate, James is quickly making his mark.
Back home in Ireland, James’s music has made a powerful impression, with four singles reaching No. 1 on the Irish iTunes Charts. His success is fueled by a distinctive blend of honest, emotionally rich songwriting and a sound that bridges the warmth of folk with the energy of contemporary indie-rock.
With his debut EP Teaching Our Teachers, James emerges as a voice that refuses to be confined by the gentle boundaries of conventional folk. Produced by Christian Best (Monique Studios) and featuring members of Mick Flannery’s band, the project weaves together intimate acoustic moments with bold sonic experimentation.
Keegan’s voice, husky and soulful, carries the emotional weight of someone who sings straight from the chest.
Keegan has already earned praise from key tastemakers like Hot Press Magazine, Notion, and EARMILK,with his songs having been featured on curated playlists including Live Nation’s “Ones to Watch” and Hot Press’s “New Irish Songs to Hear This Week.” From headline shows at DeBarras Folk Club and Cyprus Avenue in Cork to Whelans in Dublin and grassroots venues in London, James is constantly building momentum and refining his voice as a live performer.
With an expanding international presence, several No.1 singles on the Irish iTunes Charts, and a debut EP that demonstrates both artistic depth and clarity of vision, James Keegan is methodically building a solid foundation as an independent artist. Through ongoing tours, new releases, and global audience engagement, he is steadily establishing himself as a distinctive and reliable voice within the contemporary folk and indie-rock genres.
