Joe H Henry

Canada

With a voice “as powerful as a freight train” Métis Singer-Songwriter Joe H Henry blends influences of early rhythm and blues, soul, and country roots, with the lyrical depth of folk, highlighted by his stunningly powerful and expressive vocals.

Known for his thoughtful lyrics, signature storytelling, and innate ability to connect with audiences from all walks of life; Henry’s well of inspiration runs deep with experiences from a homeless train hopping youth to a homesteading father of five, and you can feel it in every line he sings.

Since his 2022 debut on the East Coast music scene, Joe has performed both solo and with his trio at many of the Maritime’s largest festivals (Stanfest, TD Halifax Jazzfest, Cavendish Beach), and theatres (The Marigold, The Astor, King’s Theatre). He made his International debut in December 2024 at the world renowned Woodford Folk Festival in Australia with a return Small Halls tour in October 2025. Early 2026 will see him further breaking into the international market with a tour of Scotland, Wales, and the UK.

His debut EP "Keep the Fire Burning" released July 2023, earning nominations for Blues Recording of the year (East Coast Music Awards), Americana Recording of the year (Nova Scotia Music Awards), as well as Indigenous Artist of the year. His follow up EP, "Real Things" will be out June 20th, 2025, with the support of Jo Lukis from Just Right Music (Ben Caplan, Ria Mae), and Eric Alper of That Eric Alper (The Trews, Natalie McMaster).
