Moxie
Ireland

Moxie is an Irish Folk band emerging from traditional music that has been gradually pushing the
boundaries of tradition by reimagining a new ‘mise en scène’ of Irish contemporary music.
Moxie has travelled the world including a state visit to Vietnam, festivals and tours through the
US, Canada, Australia and Europe. Following their acclaimed second album released in 2021
“The Dawn of Motion”, perceived as “a sound that reflects the dazzling diversity of Ireland in
2021” by Hot Press Magazine and as “a swirling, almost cinematic sweep through the global
electronic and acoustic landscape” by The Irish News. Moxie were nominated for the 2021 RTÉ
Folk Awards as Best Folk Group amongst great artists such as Villagers, Ye Vagabonds and
represented Ireland at the World Expo 2020 taking place in Dubai. Anchored in Irish heritage,
this ensemble of five men, led by a multilingual vocalist with roots spanning France, Italy,
Vietnam, and Tunisia, meticulously crafts a unique musical narrative. The Irish band has spent
the past year crafting their highly anticipated third album, “Atlantean” a musical odyssey inspired
by Bob Quinn’s “Altantean theory” and drawing from their diverse backgrounds. With this new
body of work, Moxie skillfully integrates influences and languages from Ireland, France, Spain,
and North Africa, sculpting a sophisticated sound that traverses cultural boundaries. They are
currently back on the live scene and started their tour with an invitation by the Irish ambassador
in Stockholm at The Scala Teatern.
