Ireland

Midland’s Irish songwriter Laura Jo, released her Debut Single “Places” in 2022 and it takes on a whole new sound for her music. Laura Jo found initial success touring nationally and internationally on land and at sea as a multi-instrumentalist with traditional Irish shows and bands such as “The Young Irelanders”, “Celtic Nights”, “Billow Wood” and “Briste” eventually branching into her solo career onboard numerous cruise liners. In light of the pandemic, Laura Jo focused on her original music and stationed her music in studio with sound engineer and co-producer Alan Whelan of “Solitaire Studios”.

New life was breathed into Laura’s debut song to emerge, eventually culminating in what would become “Places”. With success of her debut single, Laura Jo has opened for such acts as; Roisin O, The Tumbling Paddies and Jigjam and performed extensively across Europe, Africa and Dubai. This year Laura Jo’s newest single “Bright Eyes” has received great success in winning the Wildcard Public Vote overall ahead of the Top 25 finalist for “A New Local Hero” Irish Music Month in association with Hotpress & IBI 2023.
