Podge Lane

Ireland

Podge Lane is an alt-country and folk artist based in Cork City. His unique songwriting style mixed with exciting instrumentation has drawn comparisons to Mic Christopher and John Prine.

Podge released his sophomore album “Common Country Misconceptions” at the start of 2023, receiving praise from RTÉ, Hot Press, American Songwriter Magazine, Golden Plec and IMRO, and being touted for his honest lyricism and experimental country and roots sound.

His “Common Country Tour” has seen him take his engaging solo live show to headliners in Cork, Dublin and London, along with opening for a wide variety of artists, including Charlie Parr, Vieux Farka Touré, The Brother Brothers, Florence Dore and Damsel.

“a serious-one-to-watch – combining feel-good energy and vibrant instrumentation with painfully honest lyrics.” - Hot Press Magazine

“You can hear similarities to his contemporaries such as Willie J Healey and Boy Azooga. Yet there is a retrospective element that is subtly Dylan-esque.”- Clunk Magazine

“Yielding stylings of folk and country mixed with indie recordings, Lane contrasts his seemingly upbeat instrumentation against painfully candid lyricism” - IMRO
