Podge Lane

Podge Lane is an alt-country, singer songwriter/pun enthusiast based in Cork, Ireland who melds his honest stories against distinctive instrumentation. Lane’s influences range from the chaotic sounds of The Avett Brothers and Tom Waits, the gripping showmanship of Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn, and the humorous/soul crushing lyricism of John Prine and Randy Neman. These beacons drove Lane to create a sound steeped in history, while remaining wholly unique. Lane has been remarked for bringing a truthful edge in contemporary country and folk stylings by IMRO, Hot Press and Golden Plec. He has received great radio play and reviews for his numerous EP’s and for his debut album "Outer Monologues", which was released in late 2021. His sophomore album "Common Country Misconceptions", is set to be released in late January 2023, with the first single "Paradise" being debuted during his UK tour, to great reception. As a dynamic performer, Lane has headlined multiple solo tours across Ireland and the US, while also playing support slots for artists such as The Brother Brothers, Rozi Plain, Charlie Parr, Kiran Leonard and Tootawl and will continue to tour his upcoming album in 2023.
