Mary Burdette

Mary Burdette is Executive Director of Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival and President of FestiveWorks, LLC, a production company whose mission is to inspire, educate, and entertain; grow new audiences; and create a diverse, inclusive, welcoming community of fans, artists, and supporters. Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival (US) is a gathering of award-winning bluegrass, old-time, Americana, and roots music, including traditional and contemporary folk music from around the world. Developmental and learning programs include emerging artist showcases, a youth academy, dance instruction, music workshops, and college scholarships. Now in its 40th year, Grey Fox is an iconic summer haven for music lovers from more than thirty states and a dozen countries.


As an active member of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), Mary has served on advisory committees, chaired Leadership Bluegrass Alumni, and co-produced the IBMA Annual Awards Show.


​Mary has recorded for Rounder Records and Music of the Old West labels and is heard on the soundtracks of Ken Burns’ documentaries, Lewis and Clark: Journey of the Corps of Discovery (1997) and The American Buffalo (2023). She has toured North America and Europe, and, for the US State Department, Trinidad and Tobago with banjo legend, Bill Keith. In 2023, she toured Switzerland, Czech Republic, and Germany with the bluegrass band, Level Best.
